R. A. Fletcher is the proud owner of Phoenix Publishing, a digital publishing company that offers Book Cover Art, Layout Design, and Editing services for authors and professionals. My writing experience spans over 10 years. I hold a BA in Graphic Design and Media Arts with several published book covers (see portfolio for details). I also worked in an agency setting as an editor for almost 5 years and a Graphic Designer for 2 years. As of May 2026, I will have my MFA in Creative Writing.

Need an illustration, typography, or graphic design for your book cover? Phoenix Publishing can help. Every cover is unique, which means pricing can vary depending on a wide range of factors, including the type of design, art style, and complexity.

Pricing starts at $150 for front cover designs.
Back cover layout and custom graphics are priced on a per-project basis.

Layout Design

Make sure you have the right layout and file type for your manuscript or presentation before you send it to the printer. This service is the final step in preparing projects for digital or print publication. Pricing does not include the creation of custom graphics.

Pricing for fliers, brochures, presentations, reports, or magazines starts at $25 per page.
Longer designs with fewer graphics, like novels, start at $35 per hour.

Editing & Proofreading

Grammarly may be able to tell you the difference between your and you're, but it can't tell you if Stella from Chapter 2 turns into Stephanie in Chapter 10. Don't make the mistake of foregoing human editing.

Proofreading (grammar, spelling, and syntax) rates start at $0.02 per word
Developmental editing (character and plot development) rates start at $0.04 per word.
